Acquisition of French Roulette - A Mother’s Ordeal, selected at the Coming Next from France (Series Mania Forum)!

 

France tv distribution is proud to announce the acquisition of the series French Roulette - A Mother’s Ordeal (original title: Tout pour Agnès). The series is selected at the Coming Next from France organized by Unifrance during the Series Mania Festival. The 2023 edition of the international festival entirely dedicated to drama will take place from March 17th to 24th in Lille.

Produced by La Dame de Cœur (Effervescence Groupe) and Effervescence Fiction, the series will feature Michèle Laroque, Yannick Choirat and Marie Zabukovec. It will be broadcast on France 2.

 

 

Synopsis

A story based on true events.  

Nice, French Riviera, the 1970s. Renée Le Roux runs the city’s historical casino with an iron fist. She stands alone against the mafia and her arch rival, Jean-Dominique Fratoni, who is doing everything in his power to acquire her establishment, in his mission to turn Nice into “the European Las Vegas”. Her daughter Agnès gets caught up in this battle, becoming a target in spite of herself. Urged by her lover, Maurice Agnelet, Agnès sells her shares in the family casino to Fratoni. Only a few months later, she goes missing. Who stood to benefit from her disappearance? There is no doubt in Renée’s mind that Maurice Agnelet killed her daughter to secure the acquisition of the casino. And so begins a game of cat-and-mouse, a mother’s forty-year battle to reveal the truth.
